Tom, you have done it again!
I share your idea that there is an existing, ever-changing interconnectivity in our marketstream.
A change in one product or brand can instantly encourage a change in the other.
You can even observe this phenomena among companies, as well, with regard advertising and their drive to make their brands go viral.
