Seth Godin on the mediocre

"The mediocre . . . are struggling to stay in place. They're nervous that it all might fall apart. So they wait. They wait for 'proof' that this new idea is going to work, or at least won't prove fatal. (It's the impulse to wait that made them mediocre in the first place, of course)."

Radiohead_2 Seth nails it!  Read his post.  And then, for survival sake, go try something new!

Mediocrity seems to be such a hot topic these days. One of my friends once said that he would rather someone criticize his work than to have it called mediocre. Somehow, I have begun to adopt his state of mind, too. Many people ask, "Why rock the boat?" Because it's fun. And it's fun being the first to try out this new idea.
